PESHAWAR - Militants bombed another government school for boys and a bridge in Khyber Agency on Monday. The Khasadar Force confirmed the incident and said the blast caused by planted explosive material destroyed the building completely in Tehsil Landikotal.
The number of schools being targeted by the militants is on the rise at an alarming rate as a result of the campaign launched against modern education. And in Akakhel area of Tehsil Bara, militants dynamited a bridge.

Art competition at City School

LAHORE - Art Community arranged an art competition in the City School's Shalimar Campus on Saturday where famous cartoonist Javed Iqbal was the chief guest. Students depicted their art through paintings and drawings. In the end, a prize-distribution ceremony was held in which students who got top positions were awarded. School for underprivileged children holds musical day

LAHORE - The Welfare Finishing School of Rukhsana Foundation, a school for underprivileged children, celebrated its annual music day last month. Foundation Chairperson Rukhsana Tahirkheli was the chief guest and students performed various acts, which were appreciated by the audience. The foundation supports more than 120 underprivileged and poor students by providing them with free education. The foundation mostly helps children whose parents are scavengers and work on daily wages.

High school gets upgradation grant

SIALKOT - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shairf has issued a grant for Government Qaumi High School for its up gradation. According to the Headmaster Hafiz Akhtar Tanveer the chief minister has issued Rs 19,75,000 for development of school.

Girls’ school blown up in Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR - Some unidentified armed men blew up a girls' school on Monday in Khyber Agency. Khyber Agency's administration said the armed men planted explosives in the girls' school in Landi Kotal, Sub-Division of Khyber Agency and added that the explosion damaged three rooms and the boundary wall of the school. It said the attack did not cause any causality and no militant group had taken the responsibility of the attack.

‘Immunise children before sending them to school’

KARACHI - Children should be immunised against prevalent diseases before being admitted to schools, Shah Faisal Town Administrator Kamal Mustafa said on Tuesday.
