LDA cancels tenders worth Rs 100m after corruption scams surface
LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has cancelled the tenders of various development projects worth Rs 100 million awarded to private firms after reports of massive corruption and receiving kickbacks in the pre-qualification process and other procedural requirements laid down in the LDA Act surfaced, Pakistan Today has learnt.

LAHORE: The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) on Friday fixed the wholesale and retail prices of sugar at Rs 69 and Rs 72 per kilogramme, respectively.
Lahore DCO Ahad Khan Cheema issued a notification warning violators of stern measures, including three years imprisonment. The DCO said the district government had formed special monitoring teams headed by magistrates to ensure that dealers and retailers sold sugar at the prescribed prices.

Sugar price touches Rs 101 per kg
LAHORE: The price of sugar touched the highest-ever level of Rs 101 per kilogramme, with a 50 kg sugar bag being sold for Rs 5,050 in the province's largest wholesale market, Akbari Market, on Saturday.

Pakistan aims to raise Rs 80b from Islamic bond
KARACHI: Pakistan plans to raise Rs 80 billion ($932 million) by selling Islamic bonds in the domestic market next month, the State Bank of Pakistan said on Friday, as the government seeks to cut its fiscal deficit.

MCB bank announced financial results for the quarter ending on June 30, 2010 announced gross profit of Rs 19.4 billion and cash dividend at the rate of 30 percent declared.
The board of directors met on October 26, 2010 and reviewed the performance of the bank for a period leading up to September 30th, 2010. The financial results for the nine months were presented before the board deliberated on them.

PESHAWAR: The livestock, dairy and poultry sectors have suffered a loss of over Rs 7 billion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
