District government imposes ban on pillion riding
HAFIZABAD - District government has imposed a ban on pillion riding, standing on the roofs of houses and shops on the routs of mourning processions under section 144 of Pakistan Penal Code in the Hafizabad on 10th of Muharram.
A notification has been issued here in this regard. Meanwhile, Hafizabad District Police Officer Tariq Chohan said the violators of section 144 PPC and creating hurdles in the law and order situation would be dealt with iron hand.

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen on Wednesday has proposed a ban on pillion riding during preliminary days of Muharram-ul-Haram.

Pillion riding allowed in Karachi after two years
KARACHI: The Sindh government has lifted the ban on pillion riding in Karachi, a notification issued by the provincial Home Department said on Tuesday.
The ban was imposed in 2008, but the government made exception for the people on special occasions, such as eids. It is uncertain as to how long the government would stick to the decision, as it is likely to re-impose it during the upcoming month of Muharram.
