Ministry team reaches New Delhi; talks today

Two more shot dead in Karachi, death toll reaches 8

KARACHI - Two more persons were shot dead in the city early Friday morning.
According to reports, a 25 -year- old man was killed in Landhi when unknown gunmen opened fire on him. He died on the spot.
Another man Adnan was killed in Azizabad. Nazar Muhammad was shot dead in Sohrab Goth and an unknown man was killed in the journalist society.
The death toll has reached 8 since last night and 18 in last 24 hours.

LAHORE - Banned Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt reached London on Tuesday to face the corruption charges leveled against him by the Scotland Yard, while Mohammad Amir is waiting for his visa documents. It will be their first appearance before a magistrate's court there on Thursday to face corruption charges in connection with the spot-fixing scandal last year.

Load-shedding rises, as shortfall reaches 1,800MW

LAHORE - The power shortfall in the country crossed 1,800MW on Monday resulting in long hours of load shedding. Power outages crossed the four to eight hours mark while in many areas, electricity was closed for continuous intervals.

LAHORE - The Punjab National Junior Squash Championship 2011 reached the quarter-final stage here on Friday. The event will have its finals played on February 7 at the Punjab Squash Complex. On Friday, the main round matches started, with President Punjab Squash Association Malik Amjad Ali Noon opening the round. The day started with some of the first round matches.
