Indian reporter wins AFP prize for work in Kashmir

HONG KONG - Dilnaz Boga, an Indian photojournalist and reporter, has won the Agence France-Presse Kate Webb Prize for her courageous work in Indian-administered Kashmir, the AFP Foundation announced on Wednesday.

CM announces prize money for hockey team

LAHORE - The Pakistan Whites hockey team will receive Rs 1.6 million as prize money for winning the 11th SAG trophy. The team participated in the 11th SAG held in Dhaka from January 29 to February 8, 2010 and won the title.

KARACHI - A prize distribution ceremony of QC/RTG was held yesterday at Maritime Training Institute, an outreach campus of Mersk Training Center, Denmark. OSLO: Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in an Oslo ceremony derided by Beijing as a farce, and dedicated it from his prison cell to the "lost souls" of the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown.

LONDON: Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Czech president Vaclav Havel on Sunday demanded "the unconditional release" of Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, in an article published by a British newspaper.

Sindh govt mulling prize on assassins’ heads

KARACHI: The Sindh government is planning to place a bounty on the heads of criminals involved in the assassinations in Karachi, Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza told the Sindh Assembly on Monday.
"There is no amnesty for the criminals who surrender," he said during the Question Hour. Mirza said that from May to October 2010, 822 kidnapping had been registered in the province and out of them, 520 had taken place in Karachi.
