LAHORE - The increase in prices of petroleum products helped vegetable and fruit prices to skyrocket at Sunday Bazaars. Prices of nearly all commodities including onions, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, peas, lemon, green chillies, apples, guava, bananas and strawberry increased by Rs 4 to 20 per kilogramme.

SAHIWAL - Commissioner Qazi Muhamad Ashfaq Qureshi has directed the price magistrates of the division to strictly monitor the prices of daily-use items to provide relief to the common men.

ROME - World food prices fell for the first time in eight months in March after record highs largely due to oil prices, though the situation remains volatile, the UN's food agency said on Thursday.
