ISLAMABAD - Two-day SAARC secretaries meeting on poverty alleviation would be held on March 28-29 to discuss the progress in implementing the SAARC "Poverty Plan of Action on Poverty Alleviation".

HAFIZABAD - A young labourer, frustrated by on poverty, committed suicide at Kolo Tarar Town on Tuesday. Saqib was doing labour but was unable to meet his demotic expenditures and often remained tense. On the day of the incident, he took poisonous pills. Italy provides 40 million euros for poverty alleviation
ISLAMABAD - Italy will provide a soft loan of 40 million euros to Pakistan for poverty reduction by rural development activities in Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
Italian Ambassador Vincenzo Prati and Economic Affairs Secretary Sibtain Fazal Halim signed the loan-agreement on Friday in Islamabad.
