KARACHI - The Sindh High Court has ordered the Home Department to submit a comparative chart of crimes committed during the time when pillion riding was banned.
A division bench comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai issued the directives to the Sindh Home Department for submitting the chart within two weeks.
The bench was hearing a petition filed by Deedar Ali Chandio Advocate, pleading to exempt lawyers from the pillion riding ban.

LAHORE - City District Government and Lahore Police on Monday banned pillion riding for two days in the city to maintain law and order on Hazrat Imam Hussain's (RA) Chehlum, today.
According to Police City Division Superintendent Dr Shahzad, the ban was imposed to prevent violence on Hazrat Imam Hussain's (RA) Chehlum and appealed to motorcyclists not to violate the ban. However, he said that the pillion riding law would not apply to women, children and the elderly.

HAFIZABAD - District government has imposed a ban on pillion riding, standing on the roofs of houses and shops on the routs of mourning processions under section 144 of Pakistan Penal Code in the Hafizabad on 10th of Muharram.
