KARACHI - The Sindh High Court on Thursday summoned the Pakistan Army's legal officer (deputy judge advocate-general) Headquarters Corps V, Karachi, the directors general (DGs) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and Pakistan Rangers, and the Sindh home secretary on four different constitutional petitions seeking comments on missing persons.

Top US officer cautions against cut to Egypt aid

WASHINGTON - The US military's top officer on Friday cautioned against moves to cut off aid to Egypt due to the unrest against the government of President Hosni Mubarak. "I would just caution against doing anything until we really understand what's going on," Admiral Mike Mullen said in an interview on ABC News.

Railways name new sports officer

LAHORE - Atta Hussain Butt was appointed the sports officer of Pakistan Railways Sports Board here on Monday. The Railways general manager took the decision in wake of the recent poor showing of the departments' athletes in the 31st National Games held at Peshawar.
Atta will replace Rashid Mahmood Butt, whose posting has been put on hold for further orders. Atta was working in the accounts department of Railways and has been organising one of the martial arts teams of Railways.

DUBAI: The Chief Restructuring Officer of Dubai World, Aidan Birkett, is stepping down after the debt-laden group reached a deal to restructure its debt, stated an official statement released on Wednesday.
