ISLAMABAD - A moderate 4.4 earthquake rattled Chitral and neighbouring regions on Monday morning.
According to the Meteorological Department 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolts were felt in northern parts of the country, reported private news channel.

Record floods kill 60 in northern Namibia
WINDHOEK - Record floods have hit central and northern Namibia, killing more than 60 people in the last week and causing millions of dollars of damage to roads, bridges and crops, officials said on Monday.
"Over 20,000 people have been displaced," government disaster chief Japhet Iitenge said, adding that helicopters, boats and four-wheel drive vehicles had been deployed to evacuate communities and distribute emergency relief.
"We are still awaiting reports on damages."

Magnitude 5.9 quake shakes northern Chile
SANTIAGO - A magnitude 5.9 quake struck northern Chile on Saturday but the Chilean emergency office ONEMI said there were no reports of damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered 84 miles (135 km) northeast of Iquique and had a depth of 51.8 miles (83.3 km).

Quake jolts Northern Areas, KP and capital
ISLAMABAD - An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted Pakistan's Northern Areas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and federal capital of the country at 7:45am on Monday but no lose of life or property was reported. Pakistan Met Office's spokesman said the epicenter of quake lied in Tajkistan, 530 km north of Islamabad with 83 km depth.
