ROME - NATO on Thursday denied bombing Libya's biggest oil field after accusations from Moamer Kadhafi's regime, saying fires at the Al-Sarir field were more likely to be linked to skirmishes in the region.

KABUL - NATO troops hunted down an Afghan policeman who shot dead two American soldiers this week, killing him with the help of intelligence tip-offs, the military said Thursday.

AJDABIYAH - A NATO air strike killed at least five rebels near the Libyan port of Brega on Thursday, medics said, and insurgents reported Muammar Gaddafi's forces killed five more in a bombardment of besieged Misrata.

QUETTA - Unknown armed men attacked and torched two tankers carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan near Dhadar area in Bolan district some 125 km east of the provincial capital Quetta on Wednesday.

QUETTA - Gunmen in Balochistan opened fire on a tanker carrying oil for NATO forces in Afghanistan on Thursday, killing its driver and setting the vehicle ablaze, officials said. The attack took place near the town of Wadh in Khuzdar district, local police official Jumma Khan told AFP.

KALAT/PESHAWAR - A driver was injured and two Nato trailers were set alight in Sorab area of Kalat district on Monday. According to Levis sources, the Nato trailers carrying goods were on their way to Afghanistan from Karachi when unidentified armed men intercepted the vehicles at Gewa cross and opened fire, injuring the driver identified as Muhammad Jhangir.
