PML-Q finalizes 4 names for federal cabinet

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League -Quaid (PML-Q) finalized its four names for the federal cabinet on Wednesday.
Quoting sources, a private television channel reported that the names include Pervez Elahi from Punjab, Ghous Bakhsh Mahar from Sindh, Ameer Muqam from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Jam Yousuf from Balochistan.
All of them are presidents of the party on provincial levels.

Sri Lanka names Dilshan new skipper

COLOMBO – Sri Lanka’s cricket authorities on Monday named all-rounder Tillakaratne Dilshan as captain for the upcoming tour of England.
Dilshan will lead the side in all three formats of the game — Tests, one-day internationals and Twenty20s — on the tour, which starts in May, Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement.
The 34-year-old replaces Kumar Sangakkara, who stepped down after Sri Lanka lost the World Cup final to India earlier this month.

PCB names women’s team for SL series

LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board Women Wing has announced the women team for upcoming quadrangular series featuring Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ireland and Holland.
The tournament will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from April 18 to May 1.
The PCB has called the camp training of the selected players from April 6-17 at National Cricket Academy, Lahore, for the preparation of the series.

TOKYO – Japan’s centre-left government on Wednesday named as its new foreign minister Takeaki Matsumoto, who hails from a powerful political family but faces tricky relations with the US, China and Russia.
