Zardari mulls roundtable on national issues
ISLAMABAD - With the IMF refusing to bail Pakistan out of its economic crisis until the agreed reforms are implemented and the Raymond Davis issue jeopardising Pak-US diplomatic relations is resolved, President Asif Zardari on Tuesday announced holding a "roundtable conference" with a national agenda to steer the country out of the crises.

HEC mulls taking indirect control of post-graduate colleges
ISLAMABAD - Higher Education Commission (HEC) is seriously mulling to take indirect control of all government post-graduate colleges, it has
been learnt.
A source in HEC told Pakistan Today that a committee had been constituted to look after the affairs of the post-graduate colleges.
It said the committee consisting of six universities includes University of the Punjab, Peshawar University, Gomal University, Karachi University and Sindh University.

PHF mulls series against Egypt
LAHORE - The Pakistan Hockey Federation plans to organise a reciprocal hockey series with Egypt early next year, it was announced on Tuesday.
PHF secretary Asif Bajwa said that Pakistan will tour Egypt in February and Egypt will give a return tour in March. He said that the annual calendar of the PHF laid more emphasis on the team's international exposure and the plan is to begin the efforts with a series against Egypt.

JUI-F mulls parting ways with provincial govts
ISLAMABAD: After quitting the federal government, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is seriously considering parting ways with the Pakistan People's Party-led governments in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Insiders told Pakistan Today on Thursday that the JUI-F had decided to sit on the opposition benches during the forthcoming National Assembly session and it would also move to the other side of the isle in the upcoming Senate session as well.
