LAHORE - Model Town thrashed Afshan FC 7-1 to enter the semi-finals of the All Punjab Raiders Football Cup 2011. Model Town staged a recovery after conceding an early goal and turned the tide in the second session as international striker Zaheer Abbas struck a hat-trick with goals in the 11th, 14th and 27th minute of the second session.

Construction of 22 model villages starts on 15th
LAHORE - Presiding over a high-level meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said construction of 22 model villages in the flood-affected areas of the province would start on March 15. These villages would be completed and handed over to the affected within 90 days, he added.

Lahore - The Punjab chapter of the Red Crescent Society (RCS) Pakistan organized a blood donation camp at Al-Minhaj University Model Town on Wednesday. The university students donated 63 blood bags for the thalassemia children at the Red Crescent centre. The camp was organized by Minhaj Welfare Foundation Director Iftikhar Shah Bukhari and Deputy Director Mian Tahir Yaqub. Red Crescent Society Punjab chairman Mian Muhammad Hanif thanked the administration for setting up the blood camp.
