The ruling PPP's new strategy to shake hands with the PML-Q is apparently paying off, as the latter is not attending the meeting convened by Pir Pagara in efforts to unify various factions of the PML.

PPP leader Babar Awan's meeting with PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi was just a routine matter and part of the PPP's reconciliation policy, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Tuesday.

The dollar fell on Friday as speculation mounted that a US plan that included letting undervalued currencies strengthen would gain support ahead of a contentious weekend Group of 20 meeting. This had the sudden effect of lifting gold and oil prices.
Major European stocks opened lower, with Britain's FTSE 100 down 0.1 percent, France's CAC 40 down 0.5 percent and Germany's DAX off 0.3 percent. The FTS Eurofirst 300 opened 0.1 percent lower.

Sindh to take up PSDP funds’ blockade in CCI meeting

The Sindh government will take up the matter of financing the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) schemes worth Rs 277 billion in the upcoming meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) so that the vital projects could be completed on time, Pakistan Today learnt on Sunday.
Sources said the Centre had withheld the funding of the PSDP 2010-11 in the province citing financial problems.
