LAHORE - Rice exports have surpassed $1 billion mark during the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2010-11. Figures released by Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) have revealed that between July 2010 to January 2011, rice exporters have exported 2.08 million tonnes of rice worth $1.14 billion, while Pakistan exported rice worth $1.18 billion during the same period of 2009-10.
