Home Dept’s special cell to crack down on bhatta mafia
KARACHI - The Home Department is setting up a special cell that would be headed by an SSP-rank officer to look into extortion complaints. According to a Home Department spokesperson, Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza made this decision in consultation with Adviser on Home Affairs Sharfuddin Memon.
He further directed the IGP, Karachi CCPO and other top ranking police officials to complete arrangements for the establishment of the cell as soon as possible.

ISLAMABAD - Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) Chairman Anjum Bashir refused to disclose the names of the "sugar mafia" during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Trade here on Tuesday.
The committee met under its Chairman Dastgir in Parliament House to review the increase in the prices of sugar and urea. Bashir said if he made public the names, it would "create a problem" for him.
