LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained range-bound and closed in red zone with a slight decline in the volume on Wednesday. LSE approves adoption of VCC code

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange has become the first corporate entity in Pakistan to adopt the Voluntary Competition Compliance Code of the Competition Commission of Pakistan. The decision to adopt the code was taken by the LSE Board of Directors at the Board meeting yesterday in which the Chairperson of the Commission Rahat Kaunan Hassan was especially invited to address the members about various aspects of the code.

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained bullish on Thursday with an improvement in volume. The LSE 25-shares added 43.74 points to close at 3,730.62 against its opening at 3,686.88.
The volume of the market was 5.74 million shares, which was 1.34 million shares more than Wednesday's turnover of 4.39 million shares. Out of 126 active scrips, 52 went up, 14 declined and 60 showed no change in their opening values.

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) closed in green zone on Tuesday with stagnant volume. The LSE 25-index added 19.09 points to close at 3,686.88 against its opening at the level of 3,667.79.
The volume of the market remained 4.39 million shares, which was 0.31 million shares less than Tuesday's turnover of 4.7 million shares. Out of 133 active scrips, 31 went up, 34 declined and 68 showed no change in their opening values.

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained range-bound on Monday with a significant decline in volume. The LSE-25 shares gained 9.06 points to close at 3,680.90 against its opening at 3,671.84 levels.

Provinces to benefit from RGST: LSE rector

LAHORE: Provinces would be benefited by the implementation of Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST), and issues with the tax can be negotiated, Lahore School of Economics Rector Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhary said on its Eighth Convocation held at the Burki Campus on Saturday.
The rector said the RGST issue had been politicized because the lion's share would end up with Punjab - but the matter could be resolved. The Convocation Ceremony was held to confer degrees to around 1000 students

LUMS clinches runners-up trophy in LSE Sports Gala

LAHORE: Lahore School of Economics (LSE) held its annual Sports Gala from 10th to 15th November, 2010. Among the participants were Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and University College Lahore (UCL).
Both male and female students took part in a number of sports including basketball, football, cricket and volleyball. LUMS managed to take home the runner-up trophy even though they could not take part in the volleyball

The LSE-25 shares index agonisingly depreciated by 4.27 points to close at 3,265.56 against its opening at 3,269.83 levels. Volume of the market disturbingly reduced by 1.23 million shares and stayed at 3.61 million shares.

LSE wavers on political unrest

LAHORE: The performance of the Lahore Stock Exchange LSE 25-share index was underwhelming. A major deterrent to trading was the volatile political climate. The market managed to close in the positive zone and gained 15.70 points on Friday.
The trading volume of 5.20 million shares was recorded, which was 0.37 million from the previous day. In total 123 scrips were traded out of which 27 closed in green zone, 29 remained losers and 67 remained static.
