Jail warder dismissed for supplying liquor to inmates

LAHORE - A Camp Jail Lahore warder was dismissed from service on Monday by the jail superintendent for supplying liquor to prisoners. Camp Jail Superintendent Gulzar Butt said that he received information that Warder Humayun Maqsood supplied liquor to prisoners in guise of water. Butt said that he observed that Maqsood cleared a prisoner's luggage carrying liquor in a cold drink bottle.

254 bottles of liquor seized

SIALKOT - Uggoki police have seized 254 bottles of imported liquor from a dubious car during checking near Sahowala-Sambrial.
The Sialkot district police officer told journalists that the police had also arrested three accused, Akram, his wife Khalida and Ikram, who were bringing liquor from Islamabad to Sialkot and its surrounding areas.
The police have sent the accused behind bars and have started investigation after registering a case against them.

Punjab Assembly demands ban on liquor business

LAHORE - Members of the Punjab Assembly have demanded the government declare the income from liquor manufacture and sale 'haram' (prohibited); and take measures to ban the making, sale and use of liquor. DASKA - Sambrial patrolling police seized a heavy quantity of liquor from a car in the jurisdiction of Bagowala Police Station. Reportedly, the police were tipped off that two people were taking a heavy quantity of liquor to Sialkot in a car. One dead, two serious after drinking poisonous liquor

FAISALABAD - A drink party ended in nightmare when a man died and his brother and friend were taken to a hospital in serious condition after drinking poisonous liquor. Reportedly, two brothers Ashiq Hussain and Kashif Hussain, residents of Chak No 68 JB, and their friend Muhammad Boota from the same village arranged a drink party at their Dera.
They consumed an overdose of home-made liquor and slipped into coma after which they were taken to a hospital where Ashiq Hussain died
