PESHAWAR - Troops and paramilitary forces, backed by helicopter gunships and warplanes, targeted Taliban positions in Mohmand Agency near the Afghan border on Thursday, killing at least 18 militants, a regional government official said.

ISLAMABAD - Over 900 people were killed due to American Drone attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan, while as many as 12,580 people were murdered, 581 kidnappings for ransom and 16,977 cases of abduction were also reported, according to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

KARACHI - There was no respite in violence in Karachi as at least seven more people were gunned down in the city in incidents of targeted killing on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD - In Indian occupied Kashmir, two persons were killed and another was injured in a blast on Wednesday in Jammu district.
A powerful blast occurred at Jourian town in Akhnoor area of the district as the shell exploded in a scrap dealer's shop, KMS reported.
The scrap dealers, Rampaul (44) and Preetam Chand Lal were killed in the blast while Gurdyal (25) was injured. The injured was admitted in GMC Hospital
