KARACHI: A young man was killed and another injured on Wednesday in a firing incident, as a Rangers' search operation in Kunwari Colony continued for a second consecutive day.
The incident took place in the wake of a protest staged by residents of Kunwari Colony, who were demonstrating against what they claimed was a farcical operation. Pirabad police said during the protest, unidentified persons opened fire at a Rangers vehicle parked near Ibrahim Masjid on Manghopir Road.

Suspected Taliban among 300 held in Karachi raids
KARACHI: More than 300 suspects, including suspected Taliban leaders, were arrested in Manghopir, Karachi in a search operation on Tuesday, sources told Pakistan Today.

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Limited has warned the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) that supply of gas would be suspended if the power utility did not clear its outstanding dues within 30 days, Pakistan Today has reliably learnt. KARACHI: Death toll rose to 11, including eight crew members, as a Russian-made cargo plane crashed in the Naval area near Dalmian in Karachi soon after taking off from airport in the wee hours of Sunday, officials said.

KARACHI: Aftab Malik, founder and chief of the Bihari Qaumi Movement (BQM), was shot dead on Friday in the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazaar police station in Orangi Town, Karachi, police said.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has lifted the ban on pillion riding in Karachi, a notification issued by the provincial Home Department said on Tuesday.
