ISLAMABAD - The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on February 3, 2011 for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000, has registered a 0.37 percent decline compared to the previous week. Provisional figures released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reveal that SPI, for the week under review in the above mentioned group, was recorded at 296.25 points compared to 297.34 points in the previous week.

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's crippling inflation rate has left trader Mohammad Farouk with a painful task at the end of each day - throwing out a large quantity of his fruits and vegetables because it's too expensive to sell.
