5.8 quake hits off Mexico Pacific coast

WASHINGTON - A moderate 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of southern Mexico, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake hit 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Suchiate, Chiapas state, at a depth of 54 miles (87 km), the USGS said.

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale hit Myanmar at 1:57 p.m. Beijing Time Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 20.8 degrees north latitude and 100.2 degrees east longitude with a depth of 10 kilometers, the center said.

YANGON - At least 75 people were killed when a strong earthquake struck Myanmar, officials said Friday, with fears that the toll would rise as news filtered through from remote areas still cut off.

ALGIERS - A bomb struck a vehicle in Algeria and killed five people, media reported on Wednesday, in the deadliest attack in months as the country battles violence blamed on Islamist militants.
