LAHORE - Gas pressure to CNG stations remained low on Saturday while many stations were closed owing to gas shortage causing a lot of inconvenience to people amid the All Pakistan CNG Association's appeal to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to consult all stakeholders for tackling the gas crisis.

Gas load-shedding challenged in LHC
LAHORE - A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday challenging gas load shedding for the industrial sector of Punjab and CNG stations, terming it disastrous for the economy.

LAHORE: CNG seems to have vanished from Lahore, leaving locals to struggle for gas, as only a few stations in the city are offering gas due to low gas pressure, Pakistan Today has learnt. Tuesday was a CNG day off, as announced by the government, and owing to a low gas pressure the commuters suffered for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday and were seen roaming around deserted gas stations in search of CNG. GUJRANWALA: Hundreds of housewives expressed their anger against the shortage of gas by laying siege to the regional office of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited for hours, breaking window glasses and damaging furniture.

Unscheduled gas cuts continue to haunt citizens
LAHORE: SNGPL users all over the city experienced low pressure and unscheduled gas cuts on Saturday. Many CNG stations remained closed for the second consecutive day. SNGPL had announced a closure of gas supply to CNG stations on Friday but on Saturday, the pressure was lowered which caused a lot of inconvenience for the motorists.
The CNG station owners said SNGPL officials had lowered the pressure without informing them and had demanded bribery to provide proper pressure.

Gujranwala to be divided into 3 zones for gas supply
GUJRANWALA: Sui Northern Gas Pipe Lines (SNGPL) Gujranwala Region General Manager Mahmood Zia has assured the businessmen community that Gujranwala would be divided into three zones regarding the supply of Sui gas to the industrial sector.
The General Manager Mahmood Zia said that 850 industrial units, depending on natural gas in Gujranwala would be supplied gas for 23 continuous days while supply of gas would be suspended for remaining seven days of the month.

OPI Gas acquires 67.91 percent shares of Shell Gas LPG Pakistan
KARACHI: OPI Gas has formally acquired a major share of Shell Petroleum Company's i.e. 67.91 percent in Shell Gas LPG Pakistan Limited. The Share Purchase Agreement between OPI Gas and Shell Petroleum was signed in June this year, following a bidding process from which OPI Gas emerged successful.
The share transfer was made officially in the board meeting of Shell Gas LPG Pakistan, which was held at a t Hashoo Group Karachi office.
