Preparations for Punjab Games reviewed

LAHORE - A high level meeting of the officials of the Punjab sports fraternity on Thursday reviewed the preparations for the 71st Punjab Games, which was postponed four times in the past due to a cold war between the Punjab Olympics Association and the Sports Secretary Punjab. LAHORE - The trouble-stricken 71st Punjab Games, which have been postponed four times in the past, will now be held from April 7 to 9 this year at different venues of the city. The general council of the Punjab Olympics Association met here on Saturday and finalised the dates for the Punjab Games and also announced the holding of the 32nd National Games 2012 on October 21-27 next year.

US, S Korea launch war games amid N Korea threat

Punjab to host 2012 National Games

LAHORE - The Pakistan Olympics Association on Saturday allocated the 32nd National Games to Punjab and the 4th Inter-Provincial Games to Balochistan. Both the events were allocated on rotation basis. The National Games will most probably be held after 2012 Ramazan and the Inter-provincial Games will be staged by the end of the current year. LONDON - Tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games will go on sale on March 15, chairman of the organising committee Sebastian Coe announced on Saturday.
Sports fans will have six weeks -- from March 15 to April 26 -- to apply for the 6.6 million public tickets.
