KSE fluctuates, gains marginally
KARACHI - The local bourse seemed in disarray as the benchmark index moved in both upwards and downwards direction. Market activity remained sluggish as merely 74 million shares were traded, slightly better in contrast with the preceding day. KARACHI - Local refineries are still taking advantage of higher oil prices primarily due to a 7.5 percent deemed duty on High Speed Diesel (HSD). The deemed duty is fixed in percentage terms, however, it varies in absolute terms on fluctuating international oil prices. LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained bullish marked by an astounding recovery in volume on Tuesday. The LSE 25-shares added 134.33 points to close at 3,498.49 against its opening at 3,364.16 levels. Out of 105 active scrips, 59 went up, five went down and 41 closed without any change in their opening values. FBR agrees to amend Capital Gains Tax rules
KARACHI - The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has agreed to amend rules and regulations pertaining to the filing of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) at the country's stock exchanges. According to sources, officials of FBR and the Taxation Committee of the Board of Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) reached a consensus during a meeting held here at KSE on Monday.

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) closed in green with a decline in the volume on Tuesday. The LSE 25-shares added 15.17 points to close at 3,780.15 against its opening at 3,766.54 levels.
