ISLAMABAD - Amidst the controversy over the proposed devolution of Higher Education Commission (HEC) to the provinces, the Finance Ministry on Friday blocked the quarterly grant of Rs 7.7 billion to the commission. The amount allocated for the fiscal year 2010-11 was supposed to be released on April 1.

KARACHI - Thar Coal and Energy Board (TCEB) Chairman Syed Qaim Ali Shah has requested the Federal Minister For Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf to take up Thar coal power projects during the next round of Pak-US Energy Dialogue.
