Pakistan, China will observe 2011 as friendship year
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and China have agreed on a joint action plan to observe 2011 as Pakistan-China friendship year and will focus on a wider people-to-people interaction in addition to bilateral contacts between the two governments through exchange of delegations and troupes.

Pakistan, China to name 2011 as ‘year of friendship’
ISLAMABAD - The Foreign Ministry approved a comprehensive plan on Friday to observe 2011 as a 'year of friendship' between Pakistan and China and both countries will celebrate the year at leadership, government, business and public level.
The year also marks the 16th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Wen opens Pak-China Friendship Centre
ISLAMABAD - Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao inaugurated the Pak-China Friendship Centre at Shakarparian on Saturday.
Wen Jiabao, who is on a three-day official visit to Pakistan had also laid the foundation stone of the centre in 2005, inaugurated the centre along with Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilan and said that the centre would be a symbol of friendship between the two countries. Policeman injures boy for refusing friendship
MIRPURKHAS - A police constable on Saturday injured a boy near Government Shah Abdul Lateef Science College when he refused his offer to be friends with him.
Constable Saeed Qureshi wanted to be friends with Ali Khan Qureshi, a resident of Adam Town, but on the boy's refusal, he shot him with his pistol. The injured boy was rushed to hospital.
Town police arrested Saeed and seized the pistol from his possession.
