DOHA - Three-time champions Japan reached the Asian Cup final after defeating arch-rivals South Korea 3-0 in a nail-biting penalty shootout in the semi-finals on Tuesday. Centre-back Yasuyuki Konno netted the decisive penalty, placing the ball into the right-hand side of the goal, after Koo Ja-Cheol, Lee Yong-Rae and Hong Jeong-Ho had all failed from 12 yards for South Korea.

LAHORE - Habib Bank beat PIA by five wickets in the final to clinch the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title at the National Stadium Karachi.
The final of the country's premier domestic cricket tournament was played for the first time under lights and with pink ball.

LAHORE - Four players have been fined a total of nearly $2,000 for ball-tampering, slow over rates or using abusive language during the domestic final of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy.
HBL defeated PIA by five wickets Monday in the final.
PIA were fined Rs 75,000 for being 15 overs behind schedule, and HBL was fined Rs 33,000 for being eight overs short.

KARACHI - Habib Bank's bowlers were in complete control of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match against PIA at the National Stadium Karachi on Saturday. The are just two wickets away from giving their batsmen a modest target to chase in order to win the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in Karachi that is unless the PIA tail wags.
