MOSCOW - Vera Zvonareva powered Russia into their first Fed Cup final in three years when she beat Roberta Vinci 6-4 6-2 in the first reverse singles on Sunday to give the home team a 3-0 lead against defending champions Italy.

MOSCOW - World number three Vera Zvonareva spearheads Russia's squad to play Italy in the Fed Cup semi-final here on April 16-17, Russian captain Shamil Tarpishchev announced Wednesday.

LAHORE - After a break of more than a decade, the Pakistan women's tennis team has left for Bangkok to feature in the Fed Cup. The Fed Cup is the premier team competition in women's tennis, and is considered the equivalent of the Davis Cup.

LAHORE - The training camp of the Pakistan's Fed Cup team concluded here on Wednesday with the country's top player Usnha Suhail winning all her trial-cum-fitness test matches under the supervision of former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik and non playing captain Nausheen Ehtisham.
Pakistan team comprising Ushna, Sara Mahboob, Saba Aziz and Sara Mansoor will feature in the Fed Cup in Bangkok from January 31 to February 5. Pakistan is participating the event after a gap of 12 years.

LAHORE - Pakistan's top female tennis player Ushna Sohail will undergo a fitness test for her selection for the Pakistan's Fed Cup team in the first week of February.
According to Rashid Malik, she will be evaluated in a full length practice match against the camp training players.
Currently six players - Sarah Mahboob, Sarah Mansoor, Saba Aziz, Anoosha Aslam and Iman Qureshi - are training at the Bagh-i-Jinnah Courts under the supervision of former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik

LAHORE - Pakistan's female tennis players will participate in the Federation Cup after almost a decade and the camp training of players started here at the Bagh-e-Jinnah courts under the supervision of former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik.
