KARACHI - Cotton output, up till March 15, has declined by an annual 8.7 percent, standing at 11.57 million bales compared to 12.68 million bales in the corresponding period last year, figures released by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) revealed. Cotton output increased by an annual 165 percent and reached 72,000 bales. Punjab has contributed 67 percent (7.78 million bales) in total cotton arrived so far, while Sindh has contributed 33 percent (3.79 million bales)

ISLAMABAD - The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on February 3, 2011 for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000, has registered a 0.37 percent decline compared to the previous week. Provisional figures released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reveal that SPI, for the week under review in the above mentioned group, was recorded at 296.25 points compared to 297.34 points in the previous week.

ISLAMABAD - The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for up to Rs 3,000 income group, has registered a 0.32 percent decrease in the week ended on January 20 compared to the previous week. The SPI, for the week under review in the above mentioned group, was recorded at 300.06 points compared to 301.02 points in the previous week, according to provisional figures revealed by the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
