ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday notified lifting of the ban on the export of wheat and wheat products through an amendment in the imports and exports control act. The Ministry of Commerce notified changes in the Export Policy Order 2009 allowing exports of wheat and wheat products after a gap of three years.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Tuesday decided to lift a three-year ban on wheat export, allowing the private sector to export one million tonnes of wheat without any subsidy during the current financial year.

Mechanisation will boost marble exports

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) will rent its modern quarrying equipment and technologies. The equipment will be rented in order to extract square blocks of marble and granite and to enhance exports to $500 million by 2015.

Pakistani onions disrupt Indian exports

India's onion exports fell by 33 percent to 94,800 tonnes on the back of higher demand and lower prices of Pakistani and Chinese onions in the overseas markets.

Exports shows promising growth as trade balance worsens
