Exporters oppose holiday proposal
KARACHI - The Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) South Zone has voiced strong opposition to two days off in the week for energy conservation. In a statement, PTA chairman Aziz Ahmed said Pakistan's economy which is already at its lowest ebb and many sectors are mired in crisis.

Middle East riots spread fears among rice exporters
LAHORE - Keeping in view of the current political instability in troubled areas of Middle East, the federal government should formulate a policy to provide safeguard to Pakistani exporters, said Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Acting Chairman Taufiq Ahmed Khan.

22 complaints lodged against Pakistani exporters
ISLAMABAD - Minister of State for Information Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari has indicated that since 2010, a total of 22 complaints were lodged by foreign buyers against Pakistani exporters, alleging supply of substandard goods.

Government wildly optimistic about wheat prospects: exporters

SBP extends LTFF to glass exporters
KARACHI - The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that glass manufacturing industry producing exportable goods is now eligible for financing under the central bank's Long Term Financing Facility (LTFF). According to an SBP Circular, SMEFD Circular Letter No. 2 which was issued on Thursday, the financing for plant, machinery and equipment to be used by the export-oriented projects in the glass sector for producing exportable goods shall also be eligible under the LTFF Scheme.

India cotton set to climb as exporters up purchases
MUMBAI: Indian cotton prices may rise this week as exporters are seen ramping up purchases to ship maximum fibre to beat a mid-December government deadline, dealers said. Pakistan exporters have recorded a 16 percent jump in earnings from exports Rs 23 billion in terms of Pakistani currency exports exhibited 21 percent growth, showing five percent impact of the devaluation. These figures reflect an improvement in income of Rs 23 billion.
Details obtained by Pakistan Today showed that in the first quarter of this fiscal year, exports rose to 5.18 billion dollars compared to 4.43 billion dollars in the same period last year.
