PARACHINAR - Militants ambushed a convoy of vehicles carrying members of an anti-Taliban tribe on the Afghan border on Friday, killing eight and wounding five, tribesmen and government officials said.

KARACHI - A special banking court on Friday acquitted eight accused in the Khanani and Kalia money laundering case, after the prosecution failed to prove its case against them. The special court's judge, Mir Muhammad Sheikh exonerated four suspects of the Khanani and Kalia group and four bank officers. The court passed the verdict after examining the evidence and recording final arguments from both sides.

JALALABAD - Eight people were killed and 56 others wounded, including police chiefs, Saturday in an attack claimed by the Taliban on a bank in Jalalabad, eastern Afghanistan. US drones kill eight militants in North Waziristan
PESHAWAR - At least eight suspected militants were killed and several others injured in two separate US drone attacks in North Waziristan on Friday.
The first attack destroyed a vehicle in Data Khel area close to the Pak-Afghan border in the morning. The drone fired four missiles at the vehicle killing all six on board.
In the second attack, a motorcycle was hit by two missiles in Boya tehsil's Ghalmani village. Both the riders were killed.
