KARACHI - At least four people, including the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqqiqi (MQM-H) Afaq Ahmed group vice president and member of the Karachi Organising Committee, were killed by unidentified armed motorcyclists in Karachi on Monday. The MQM-H leader was on his way home after meeting party President Afaq Ahmed in Central Prison Karachi when four armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on his vehicle on Tariq Road signal and fled.

KARACHI - Cement manufacturers have said that the country's cement exports and dispatches declined, respectively, by 14.46 and 7.86 percent during first nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to data released by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), cement dispatches during July-March FY11 amounted to 16.017 million tonnes, showing a decline of 7.86 percent when compared to dispatches of 17.383 million tonnes achieved during the corresponding period

KARACHI - An Awami National Party (ANP) activist was gunned down in Lyari, the Chakiwara police said on Sunday.
The residents of Bihar Colony informed the police about a man's body, which was then recovered by the law enforcers. The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Nasrullah Khan, whose body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi and later handed over to the heirs.

KARACHI - The Home Department is setting up a special cell that would be headed by an SSP-rank officer to look into extortion complaints. According to a Home Department spokesperson, Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza made this decision in consultation with Adviser on Home Affairs Sharfuddin Memon.

KARACHI - The personal security guard of Sindh Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani was gunned down on Wednesday by two unidentified men in Azizabad. Thirty five-year-old Imran Manzoor alias Jangi was near Jamia Masjid Almas in Muhammadi Colony when two men on a motorcycle arrived on the scene and opened fire on him.
