PMA hails PM’s special pay package for doctors
LAHORE - Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Punjab chapter on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani's statement regarding the special pay scales for doctors. PMA Punjab President Dr Ashraf Nizami and other office-bearers said that it was a longstanding demand of the PMA Central Council that doctors should be brought out from the National Pay Scale and a special salary package be announced for them according to their professional capabilities.

Hospitals return to normal as doctors’ strike ends
LAHORE - Various teaching hospitals of Punjab are returning to normal after a 38 days strike called by young doctors demanding a substantial increase in their salaries came to end. Patients were treated in emergencies and outdoor patients departments while major and minor surgical procedures were also performed by doctors expect at Services Hospital and Children's Hospital, where a number of patients faced a lot of difficulties during treatment.
