PTCL chief, two directors sent packing

KARACHI - The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reshuffled its entire management with the chairman and two directors being forced to resign on February 24. PTCL told its shareholders in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad stock exchanges on Friday that PTCL Chairman Najeebullah Malik and directors Salman Siddiqui and Khursheed Ahmed Junejo had resigned, adding that Walid Irshad would continue to serve as chief executive officer for the next term.

LAHORE - The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) elected five member directors for the year 2011 here on Friday. All five members elected as directors belong to Panel A. They include Mirza Ejaz Baig and Jahanzeb Mirza, who bagged 71 and 70 votes respectively. SECP names KSE nominee directors

KARACHI - The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Tuesday selected nominee directors on the board of Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) for 2011 after a delay of over three weeks.

Kanal Motors director’s physical remand extended

LAHORE - An accountability court on Tuesday extended the physical remand of Kanal Motors Director Usman Yousaf until December 23.
Yousaf was accused of embezzling public money worth millions of rupees, which he had collected after offering attractive profit packages on investment in car trading.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the accused in the trial court and sought his physical remand for three more days in order to further investigate him.
