Afghan asylum seeker found dead in Australia
SYDNEY - An Afghan man seeking asylum in Australia has been found dead in a detention centre, officials said Tuesday, in what refugee advocates said was the fifth suicide in the past seven months.
The man, a 20-year-old Afghan who came to Australia by boat, was found Monday in his room at the remote Curtin Immigration Detention Centre on Western Australia's north coast, the government said in a statement.

Two more shot dead in Karachi, death toll reaches 8
KARACHI - Two more persons were shot dead in the city early Friday morning.
According to reports, a 25 -year- old man was killed in Landhi when unknown gunmen opened fire on him. He died on the spot.
Another man Adnan was killed in Azizabad. Nazar Muhammad was shot dead in Sohrab Goth and an unknown man was killed in the journalist society.
The death toll has reached 8 since last night and 18 in last 24 hours.

Three dead, four injured in separate incidents
KARACHI - Three men were killed and four other injured in separate violent incidents in the city on Friday. A man identified as Muhammad Ali, 35, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in the Dhobi Ghat area. The body of the victim was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). TOKYO - The official number of dead and missing after a devastating earthquake and tsunami that flattened Japan's northeast coast is approaching 15,000, police said on Thursday. The number of confirmed dead from Friday's twin disasters rose to 5,457 while the official number of missing increased to 9,508, the National Police Agency said in its latest update.
