The gas cuts announced by Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) because of technical problems at the Qadirpur and Zamzama gas fields will have adverse effects on the CNG sectors and the industries, a report by Pakistan Today revealed.

Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), on Friday announced that gas will decrease in the coming days and CNG stations will stay closed for five days; on October 26, 29 and 30 and on November 2 and 3.
An SNGPL official said gas supply to domestic users will be affected because pressure will decrease in various areas of the city. He said that the changed weather had raised the demand for gas and many had switched on their geysers.

The Punjab Assembly (PA) on Thursday passed the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010 enabling the Punjab government to delay the local government elections for another 180 days.

Mujahid squad police arrested 431 criminals including 29 proclaimed offenders, 33 court absconders and 189 drug pushers in various raids last month. 85 Illegal weapons, 15 kGs of illegal drugs, and 24 bottles of liquor were recovered in the raids.
According to a handout issued on Wednesday, Mujahid squad police has registered 322 cases against the 431 accused.

Bollywood actor John Abraham was sentenced to fifteen days' simple imprisonment yesterday in a 2006 accident case, but was immediately released on bail of Rs1500 by a court here.

Govt borrows Rs 238b in 86 days for budgetary support
The federal government has borrowed a massive amount of Rs 238 billion for the budgetary support within 86 days of the current fiscal.
The government borrowed Rs 220 billion from the State Bank of Pakistan, while the remaining Rs 18 billion were borrowed from other sources between July and September.
The government's average daily borrowing is estimated at Rs 2.76 billion and the borrowing has increased by Rs 215 billion as compared to the same period the previous year.
