LAHORE - Thousands of the daily wagers of Punjab have lost their jobs as gas break of industrial units continued on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday in Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal, a private TV channel reported.

LAHORE: The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained range bound and underwent a slump in volume to close in red zone on Tuesday.
The LSE-25 shares index agonisingly depreciated by 4.27 points to close at 3,265.56 against its opening at 3,269.83 levels. Volume of the market disturbingly reduced by 1.23 million shares and stayed at 3.61 million shares.
Out of 127 active scrips, 23 went up, 39 declined and 65 experienced stagnancy. Byco Petroleum ended as the leader in volume

ISLAMABAD: Consumers will have to brace for another year of inflation in sugar prices, as the latest official estimates project a shortfall of 1.3 million tons in the domestic sugar output during the current season of 2010-11.
The decline in this year's sugarcane production is expected to raise prices on the domestic market. If no timely measures are adopted, then the price of sugar is expected to exceed Rs 75 per kilogram during the crushing season, official sources indicated.
