BRUSSELS - World number two Kim Clijsters is a major doubt for the French Open next month after injuring her ankle at her cousin's wedding.
The Belgian, twice a finalist at Roland Garros, was already facing four weeks out due to a painful shoulder and wrist.
"Kim has injured her ankle. She won't be able to compete for four to six weeks. Her participation in the French Open is no longer certain," a statement said on her website on Sunday.

INDIAN WELLS - Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters both faced tough challenges at Indian Wells on Sunday, but not enough to prevent the world's second-ranked players from moving on.
Federer beat Igor Andreev of Russia 7-5, 7-6 (7/4) in a second-round match while Clijsters defeated Italy's Sara Errani 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 in their third round match in the $9 million dollar WTA and ATP Masters 1000 tournament. Federer fired four aces and won 92 percent of this first service points.

INDIAN WELLS - Former champions Jelena Jankovic and Kim Clijsters cruised into the third round by posting straight-set victories Friday at the WTA and ATP Masters 1000 event. World No 2 Clijsters, who won in 2005 and 2003, swept past Russian Alla Kudryavtseva with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 victory in the second round of the hardcourt tournament. Defending champion Jankovic also showed plenty of firepower, crushing Coco Vandeweghe of the United States in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
