LAHORE - A shutter-down strike was observed on Friday at major business centres of Lahore on the call given by religious parties against proposed amendments in the blasphemy laws.

Cold weather grips city after rains
Lahore - After the season's first rain citizens of the provincial metropolis witnessed a cold weather on the last day of 2010, whereas fog was also witnessed in the morning.
According to the meteorological department lowest temperature recorded on Friday was 5 C. A met office official said that cold and dry weather expected in next 24 hours whereas fog will prevail in the morning. He also said that as soon as sky gets clear, temperature will further decrease.

Dense fog envelops the city
LAHORE - Heavy fog and cold weather was witnessed in Lahore on Thursday, as the minimum temperature fell to 2.5 degree Celsius. The Met Office has forecast cold weather with heavy fog in the coming days.
According to details, around 22 cars collided with each other in the heavy fog owing to which two people died while several others were injured. The bad weather also delayed foreign and domestic flights by five to seven hours.

36 express coaster buses to be run on City roads from...
LAHORE: At least 36 new Express Coaster Service buses are to being operating from January 15, 2011, under the management of the new Lahore Transport Company Chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassan. These buses are to start their routes from Defence, to the rest of the city, and are expected to be used as an alternate to cars. They are also expected to have an electronic ticketing system.
