The federal government has refused to sell out a bulletproof Mercedes car owned by Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to former chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and had directed to take back vehicle from him which he is using unlawfully.

According to details, former CJ of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, took the vehicle with himself after retirement and is still using it.

Mr. Iftikhar later on filed an application requesting the ministry of law to purchase the said bulletproof car. However, the federal government, rejecting his plea, directed the authorities to take back the vehicle from the former CJ.

However, despite the federal government’s refusal and directives to take back the SC’s owned Mercedes car, it was still in use of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

It is worth mentioning that the former CJ wants to purchase the bulletproof Mercedes car, Model 2010, on annual depreciation of 15 percent which has been rejected by the federal government and Ministry of Law.
