Govt committed to making Pakistan an Islamic welfare state, says CM Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was fully committed to making Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.

“The country is moving towards achieving its real destination under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and a comprehensive strategy is being implemented to deal with the present-day challenges,” he said in a statement issued here.

Reforms, the chief minister said, were being carried out to rectify the system and the government would improve the working of the institutions to directly benefit the common man.

“Provision of jobs as well as new houses to the people is a part of PTI’s agenda and suitable places are being identified for the construction of houses for the homeless. We will fulfill all promises made with the people,” he added.

Buzdar said that bringing relief to the people was the real social revolution and performance of health, education, agriculture and other social sectors was being improved through sustained reforms.

“Meanwhile, the government is also working to improve the quality of life of the people living in remote and backward areas. As compared to the past, the development process will not be limited to a few big cities and its scope is being extended to small cities as well.”

The establishment of a society based on socio-economic justice will fulfill PM Imran’s dream of change, he said.

“Some elements are afraid of change but we should remember that the outdated and obsolete system gave nothing to the people except problems. The old system will have to be reformed to improve the lives of the common man.”

The government will fulfill the expectations of the general public by improving the quality of governance under the leadership of Imran Khan, the chief minister concluded.
