ISLAMABAD: The district magistrate of Islamabad placed a ban on the advertisement of housing schemes, which is supposed to be in effect for two months.

This order is applicable to all forms of advertisement. In a notification, the district administration said that the ban has been put into place because the creators and owners use these advertisements as a means to rip people off.

The order read that “such societies, trusts, companies invite membership either in excess of the land available to them or without having any land at all” which result in “exploitation, fraud, forgery, disputes, offences, law and order problems and massive litigation in courts”.
