Deputy parliamentary leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi has said that Zulfiqar Mirza’s apology, as aired by different TV channels on Thursday night, was not ‘genuine’.
Rizvi said that the Information Ministry has issued the fake apology to mitigate the furor caused by the statement of Sindh Senior Minister for Works and Services Dr Zulfiqar Mirza. Speaking on a private TV channel Rizvi said Zulfiqar Mirza was a senior minister and the apology should have been in written form and that too on his official letterhead.
Responding to Rizvi’s reaction on the same TV channel, PPP’s Faisal Raza Abidi said that Mirza would have to face the music for his statements against MQM and its leader Altaf Hussain adding that they were nothing but Zulfiqar Mirza’s personal opinion. “Every sensible man will condemn these statements and so do I. The conflict should be brought to an end after Mirza’s apology,” PPP leader added.
