KOTRI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday alleged that centre was “punishing” the Sindh government for its non-compromising position on the rollback of the 18th Amendment.
“They are conspiring against us but will never succeed,” he said while addressing a public gathering at the Sachal Sarmast Stadium in Jamshoro district’s Kotri city.
Bilawal said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should learn the principles of politics before practicing it and added that the “puppet government” thought eliminating the 18th Amendment would benefit it.
“We are facing trial for serving the public. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has only gained power through rigging. They cannot win free and fair elections against us,” he maintained.
He stressed that Sindh was being treated like an orphan while its people were being punished for casting their votes in PPP’s favour.
Earlier, addressing the inauguration ceremony of a flyover in Jamshoro, he said, “Neither the selected prime minister nor Buzdar of Punjab can compete with Sindh’s Murad Ali Shah.”
He reiterated that PTI came to power through rigging, adding that the people of Sindh foiled all attempts of political engineering and voted for his party in the province.
Bilawal also said the government had failed to fulfill its promises of 10 million jobs and five million low-cost houses.
“Inflation, unemployment and poor economic policies have made life miserable for the people. There’s a difference between politics and playing cricket,” the PPP chairman said.
He also told the federal government to solve problems of the poor instead of hurling allegations against members of the opposition.
