Rain, snowfall start in parts of country

ISLAMABAD: Amid new spell of rain and snowfall that started in parts of the country, the weather has turned chilly while Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday has predicted more rain and snowfall.

A fresh westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country today (evening/night) and to grip different parts of the country.

Earlier, light rain in different parts of Lahore and its adjacent areas on Thursday night turned the weather chilly.

Following the rain with snowfall at one or two places in Kohat, Peshawar divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan, tourists have gathered in Northern areas to enjoy snowfall.

According to PMD, Rain (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Bannu, DI Khan, DG Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Sukkur divisions. Partly cloudy weather with light rain/drizzle at few places is also expected along Sindh-Makran coast including Karachi.
