CCPO urges business community for cooperation

All stake-holders of the society would have to play their due role in ensuring rule of law and economic development of the country, said Chief City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir during his visit to the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) regional office on Thursday.
The CCPO, addressing the business community, said it was time about time that the general perception about police changed as police officials came from within the community. He said the Police Department worked as a team and its sacrifices for the society’s wellbeing must not be ignored. Ahmad said priority-based security had been provided to business centres and markets of the city to help the business community develop, bringing progress and prosperity to the country.
Emergency response centres had been setup in this regard to provide timely protection to the citizens and traders. He requested the business community to work in liaison with police for the betterment of national economy and propagation of foreign investment. Beside this, he said, close cooperation between the trading community, citizens and media was also the need of the hour. The CCPO said long-term concrete steps had been taken to ensure security to business activities within the city.
In this regard, the officials and Jawans of Lahore Police had been directed to bring about a positive change in Thana culture and keep their attitude highly sympathetic and sincere towards the visiting citizens, Ahmad added. Earlier, FPCCI Standing Committee Chairman Khawaja Khawar Rahseed made the welcome speech and ensured Lahore business community’s wholehearted cooperation to Lahore Police in maintaining peace and meeting emergency situations.
In the end, Khawaja Khawar Rasheed presented the FPCCI commemorative shield to the CCPO. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, DIG Investigations Ali Amir Malik, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Shaukat Abbas, SSP Investigations Abdul Razaq Cheema, CTO Captain (r) Ahmad Mobin and CIA SP Muhammad Umer Virk were also present. The prominent businessmen present included Aamir Atta Bajwa, Dr Shela Javed Akram, Iftikahar Ali Malik and Shahzad Ali Malik.
