Conveying a severe weather warning, the Met Office on Thursday predicted heavy rain and thundershowers in different parts of the country, including Lahore, on Friday and Saturday. The Met Office predicted heavy rain and thundershowers in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Hazara, Kohat and Bannu, upper parts of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad during the next two days.
Pleasant weather prevailed in the city on Thursday, as rain hit different parts of the city. Citizens hoped for a cooler weekend so that they could make the most out of the monsoon season. Citizens also hoped that WASA would improve its performance, as heavy rainfall is expected in the next few days. The maximum temperature recorded in Lahore on Thursday was 32 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
Around 85 percent humidity was recorded in the morning, which decreased to 72 percent in the evening. Scattered rain with thundershowers hit Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir on Thursday while the weather remained hot and humid elsewhere in the country.
